Beacon Broadband, Inc. (Beacon Broadband or Beacon) is committed to protecting your privacy and providing technology that gives you a safe online experience. This Privacy Policy applies to the Beacon Broadband website, mobile applications and customer portal and governs data collection and usage. By using the website, mobile applications and/or customer portal, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

Collection of Your Personal Information
Beacon Broadband collects personally identifiable information, such as your e-mail address, name, home or work address, or telephone number. Beacon also collects anonymous demographic information that is not unique to you, such as your zip code, age, gender, preferences, interests, and favorites.
Beacon also collects and processes information provided directly when you register in the customer portal or when you install and register in the App for an account. Specifically, this information includes:
- Your name, email address, location, user’s phone or contact book data, user’s inventory of installed apps, and user’s screen recording;
- Browser information and session cookies related to your access and use of the portal and/or App;
- Data insights Beacon attains based on correlation and analytics of your information collected in providing the portal and/or App, which may be used in aggregated and dis-aggregated formats or to obtain trend analytics, to provide the portal and/or App; and
- Use of the above-described collected information in aggregated and dis-aggregated forms to enhance our current portal and/or App or to provide portal and/or app features.
Beacon Broadband also automatically collects information about your computer hardware and software. This information can include your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times, and referring website addresses. Beacon Broadband uses this information to operate the service, maintain its quality, and provide general statistics regarding the use of the Beacon Broadband website.
Please know that personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data disclosed on public message boards may be collected and used by others. Beacon does not read any of your private online communications.
You are encouraged to review the privacy statement of websites you choose to link to from Beacon Broadband to understand how those sites collect, use, and share your information. Beacon is not responsible for the privacy policies of other content on websites outside of the Beacon Broadband website, customer portal, and Apps.
Use of your Personal Information
Beacon Broadband collects and uses your personal information to operate the Beacon Broadband website and deliver the services you have requested. Beacon also uses your personally identifiable information to inform you of other products or services from Beacon Broadband and its affiliates. Beacon may contact you via surveys to research your opinion of current services or potential new services that may be offered.
Beacon Broadband does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties. From time to time, Beacon may contact you on behalf of external business partners about a particular offering that may be of interest to you. In those cases, your unique personally identifiable information, such as your email, name, address, and telephone number, is not transferred to the third party. In addition, Beacon may share data with trusted partners to help us perform statistical analysis, send you email or postal mail, provide customer support, or arrange deliveries. All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to Beacon Broadband, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.
Beacon Broadband uses the information collected as described in this Privacy Policy, including personal information to:
- Provide you with the portal or Apps as described in this policy;
- Implement, improve and/or enhance the portal or Apps, including to make future releases available to you;
- Carry out Beacon Broadband’s obligations as described or authorized in the agreement and this policy;
- Enforce Beacon Broadband’s rights arising from the agreement between you and Beacon Broadband; and
- Fulfill any other purpose authorized by you and reasonably required for the portal or Apps.
Beacon Broadband’s website will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on Beacon Broadband or the site; (b)protect and defend the rights or property of Beacon Broadband; and, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of Beacon Broadband, or the public.
Security of your Personal Information
Beacon Broadband secures your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Beacon Broadband secures the personally identifiable information you provide on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment protected from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. When personal information, such as a credit card number, is transmitted to other websites, it is protected through encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol.
Use of Cookies
Beacon Broadband’s website uses “cookies” to help you personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file placed on your hard disk by a webpage server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you and can only be read by a webserver in the domain that issued the cookie.
One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. The purpose of cookie is to tell the web server that you have returned to a specific page. For example, if you personalize Beacon Broadband’s pages, or register with the Beacon Broadband site or services, a cookie helps Beacon recall your specific information on subsequent visits. This simplifies the process of recording your personal information, such as billing address, shipping address, and so on. When you return to the Beacon Broadband website, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the Beacon Broadband features that you customized.
You can accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser settings to decline cookies. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of the Beacon Broadband service or websites you visit.
Data Security
The information set out in this Privacy Policy is protected using industry standard security measures. Unless disclosure is authorized as set out above, our employees are required to keep User information confidential. However no means of communication or information transmission or storage is totally secure. We cannot be responsible for loss corruption or unauthorized acquisition and use of information, or for any damages resulting therefrom, including unauthorized acquisition and use.
Indemnity
User agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Beacon and its affiliates from any claim, liability, loss, damage, cost or expense, including, without limitation, reasonable attorney’s fees arising out of or related to the use of the service, any materials downloaded or uploaded through the service, and any actions taken in connection in connection with the use of the service, any violation of any third party’s rights, any violation of any law or any breach of this policy. This section shall not be construed to limit or exclude any other claims or remedies that Beacon may assert under this policy or by law.
Other disclosures
Beacon is required to comply with relevant laws, regulations, and judicial orders. Information covered by this Privacy Policy and other categories of information may be disclosed to third parties if we determine, in our sole discretion, that such a disclosure is necessary or required. We may also disclose this information if, in our sole discretion, such a disclosure is necessary or required to protect our interests or the interests of our customers. We may also disclose this information in connection with the sale of our business.
Beacon Home/YourBeacon App
Disclosure of Information
Beacon Broadband does not sell or otherwise distribute or disclose your information to third parties other than as described or authorized in our Master Services Agreement or Privacy Policy.
Beacon discloses the information to its subsidiaries, affiliates, and certain third-party vendors and contractors that provide development, integration, web hosting, and consulting services to provide you with the App, maintain, support, develop, improve, and/or enhance the App, and fulfill obligations associated with the App.
Beacon Broadband may be required to disclose information under certain circumstances:
- To comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request;
- To enforce Beacon’s rights arising from the Agreement entered into between you and Beacon Broadband;
- If Beacon believes disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of Beacon, its customers, or other third parties or
- To a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Beacon’s assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which your information and/or your subscriber information held by Beacon are among the assets transferred.
Changes to this Policy
Beacon Broadband occasionally updates this Privacy Policy to reflect company and customer feedback. Beacon Broadband encourages you to periodically review this policy to be informed of how Beacon Broadband is protecting your information.
Removal of Collected Data
If you wish to have your data completely removed from our systems, please email support@beaconbroadband.com. This includes data related to using the Beacon Home/YourBeacon app.
