[Harbor, OR]: On November 30, 2022, the Port of Brookings-Harbor approved the construction of Beacon Broadband’s fiber optic network on port property. Beacon Broadband is a wholly owned subsidiary of Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative committed to providing high-speed internet services to the southern Oregon coast. The construction of the Beacon Broadband network will come at no cost to the port.
Travis Webster, Port Manager, said, “The construction of the Beacon Broadband network provides the Port of Brookings-Harbor and tenants with the possibility of exploring more options when searching for high-speed internet.”
Construction of the network in the Port of Brookings-Harbor is anticipated to begin in the early 2023 and will develop rapidly with customers having the ability to connect to the Beacon Broadband network shortly after completion.
