“I awoke this morning with devout thanksgiving for my friends, the old and the new.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson
We at Beacon Broadband would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to our friends—old and new— for your excitement and backing of the
upcoming fiber-to-the-premise network. Because of your support, we are bringing the high-speed fiber broadband experience where no one else will go.
We generally use this space to provide updates on our projects, developments, and construction. We share these updates so that our upcoming customers have a window into what’s going on behind the scenes.
However, during this season of giving thanks, we believe it is of the utmost importance to let you know just what an impact you have made on Beacon Broadband and the greater Southern Oregon Coast. You have impacted us in ways you may not have realized.
As a subsidiary of Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative, Beacon Broadband shares many of the same guiding principles, one of them being “Concern for Community.” While our priority is to provide the CCEC service territory with exceptional fiber broadband internet service, we see our role in the community as a catalyst for good.
We want our local students to have the ability to seamlessly learn without the distraction of unreliable internet access. We want our community to have better access to remote medical care. We want our local businesses to thrive as they take advantage of innovative technologies. We will do everything in our power to improve the quality of life for those in the rural communities of Coos and Curry counties.
Ultimately, the larger community and Beacon Broadband will continue to thrive because of you and your support. You have empowered us to drive this project forward without a doubt. Since the inception of this project, we have almost 1,400 preregistrants for service. You have demonstrated the need for a fiber-optic network and supported us when Beacon Broadband was just an aspiration.
In addition, we are extremely grateful for the Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative Board of Directors and newly formed Beacon Broadband Board of Directors for making challenging decisions to bring this project to life. We are grateful and appreciative of your guidance and represented an interest in the Beacon Broadband project.
On a more personal note, we appreciate the countless words of support to our employees as they work to ensure the fiber network is up and running. Our employees and contractors are also thankful for your patience and consideration while Beacon Broadband continues to move forward through this prolonged construction process. On an even sweeter note, we are thankful for the warm welcome we have received from our preregistrants and community in the first few months of our project.
CCEC was originally established 83 years ago to bring electricity where no one else would go, and your ongoing support of Beacon Broadband reflects the ever-evolving need for fiber optic service in our local community. Together, let’s continue to invest in our region’s future by closing the digital divide in a place we love to live, work and play. We can’t do it without you, and for that, we are thankful.
